Eau Claire, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team fell 75-45 at UW-Eau Claire Saturday night in Zorn Arena. The Eagles drop to 6-7 overall and 0-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Blugolds improve to 6-7 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

UW-Eau Claire started the game on an 8-2 run before a pair of free throws from Elise DeNoyer made it 8-4 with 5:27 remaining in the first quarter.  The Blugolds then went on a 13-1 run to end the period, making it 21-5 after one. 

The second quarter started with another 10-0 UW-Eau Claire run before DeNoyer made a layup to make it 31-7 with 4:11 left in the half.  A pair of Blugold free throws from Elly Boles ended the period with the lead at 28 points, 39-11. 

The lead grew to as many as 37 points in the third quarter.  In the fourth, UWL went on a 9-0 run capped by a Sierra Watrud three-pointer to cut the lead to 68-40 with 3:46 left, but UW-Eau Claire had the game comfortably in hand and coasted to the 75-45 victory.   
 
UW-L shot 25.9% from the field and were 20.0% (two-of-ten) from three-point range.  The Eagles shot 55.6% (15-of-27) from the free throw line.

DeNoyer and MaKenzie Miller led UWL in scoring with eight points apiece, with Miller adding ten rebounds.  Jenna Anderson, Alyssa Clemment, and Watrud each had two steals for the Eagles. 

UW-Eau Claire shot 47.4% from the field, including 20.0% (two-of-ten) from three-point range, and 73.1% (19-of-26) at the line.

Erin O'Toole led four UW-Eau Claire starters in double-figures with 21 points, also adding ten rebounds.
