Box Score 2 Decatur, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Millikin University (Ill.) Fall Frenzy Saturday afternoon in Griswold Gym. The Eagles earned a 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-18) victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) before falling 3-1 (25-16, 17-25, 28-26, 25-13) to host Millikin (Ill.). UWL is now 8-4 on the season.
In the win over Rose-Hulman (Ind.), UWL hit .300 (53 kills, 20 errors, 110 attempts).
Leah Putzier finished with a team-high 18 kills while hitting .324 (18-7-34) with
Jill Entinger recording 14 kills and hitting .346 (14-5-26).
Madeline Brown added eight kills and
Ashley Entinger seven.
Maddie Entinger led the Eagles with 38 assists while
Danica Johnson recorded a team-high 19 digs. Putzier finished with 10 digs.
UWL hit .175 (41-19-126) in its four-set loss to Millikin (Ill.). Putzier and
Jill Entinger each had nine kills with
Ashley Entinger and Brown finishing with seven.
Maddie Entinger had 30 assists while Johnson finished with 13 digs.
Paige Schmidt added 12 digs.
Brown was named to the all-tournament team after finishing with 15 kills and hitting .343 (three errors, 35 attempts).
UWL returns to action Wednesday, September 23 hosting UW-Eau Claire in its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opener.
