Box Score Auburndale, Fla. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse baseball team earned a 6-3 victory over Washington & Jefferson College (Pa.) Monday afternoon. The Eagles, receiving votes on the D3baseball.com Top-25 Poll, improve to 2-1 on the season while the Presidents fall to 3-2.

UW-L tallied four runs in the bottom of the second inning.
Ben Morgan and
Travis Buxton-Verstegen singled to start the inning and after an infield fly,
Bryce Barsness walked to load the bases.
Shane Adler followed with an RBI single to score Morgan with the first run of the game. After a fielder's choice forced Buxton-Verstegen out at home,
Taylor Kohlwey hit a three-run double to knock in Barsness, Adler and
Nic Barnes.
Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) cut the lead to 4-1 in the top of third on Nick Vento's single scoring Derek Helbing. UW-L came right back in the bottom of the third make it 5-1 as
Joel Zyhowski scored on Buxton-Verstegen's sacrifice fly.
The Eagles added a run in the fourth for a 6-1 advantage as Adler came in on Kohlwey's second double of the game. The Presidents made it 6-3 with a pair of runs in the sixth inning on a Nick Morton single and Anthony Paladino's fielder's choice.
Joe Miller earned the win for UW-L, pitching 6.0 innings, allowing six hits, three runs and one walk with five strikeouts.
Jake Stern pitched 2.0 innings without allowing a hit, run or walk while
Jameson Sadowske picked up the save for the Eagles, going 1.0 inning with two strikeouts.
UW-L finished with 10 hits in the contest. Kohlwey went 3-for-4 with four RBI while Morgan and Adler both finished 2-for-4. Adler scored two runs and Morgan one. Kohlwey extended his hitting streak to 32-games dating back to last season.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, March 18 facing Fairleigh Dickinson-College at Florham (N.J.) in a doubleheader starting at 12:30 p.m. (Central) in Winter Haven, Florida.
