La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling earned a 43-3 victory over UW-Eau Claire Friday night in Mitchell Hall in the Eagles' home opener. UW-L, ranked ninth on the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), improves to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while UW-Eau Claire falls to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
It is UW-L's 29th straight dual win over UW-Eau Claire.
Taylor Elliot was awarded a forfeit at 125-pounds for UW-L to open the match.
Nelson Baker followed with win by fall (2:59) over UW-Eau Claire's Scott Worlund at 133 to give UW-L a 12-0 lead.
Cody See picked up a win by forfeit at 141-pounds.

Kasey Einerson followed with a win by fall (1:04) over Ty Griffin at 149-pounds while
Derek Weinmann won by decision (8-2) over Robert Rocole at 157-pounds to make it 27-0.
UW-L's
Andrew Dayland won by fall (5:46) at 165-pounds over the Blugolds' Matt Koch for a 33-0 lead. Matthew Laugen earned UW-Eau Claire's win at 174-pounds with a victory by decision (7-1) over UW-L's Alex Freidman.
The Eagles took the final three matches to finish the dual.
Richard Carlson won by decision (7-0) over Matt Rieckhoff at 184-pounds;
Eric Twohey won by major decision (12-4) over Josh Cormican at 197 and
Cody Endres won by decision (3-2) over Justin Karkula at 285. Twohey is ranked fifth at 184-pounds.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, November 22 at the Augsburg College (Minn.) Auggie-Brute Open starting at 9 a.m.
