UW-Eau Claire Invitational Results
Eau Claire, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team tied for ninth-place at the 33rd UW-Eau Claire Invitational Saturday night in the McPhee Physical Education Center. The Eagles totaled 29.5 team points while Augsburg College (Minn.) took the team title with 138 points. A total of 15 teams competed.
JR Lewis led the Eagles Saturday with a third-place finish at 157-pounds. He went 7-1 in the tournament, including a 7-5 victory over UW-Stevens Point's Ben Strobel in the third-place match.
Brady Schrupp and
RJ Dilcher both went 2-2 at 157-pounds for UW-L. Schrupp recorded a win by major decision and one by technical fall while Dilcher picked up both of his victories by major decision.
The Eagles'
Bobby Dorn went 3-2 and
Tyler Furger 2-2 at 149-pounds Saturday. Dorn recorded a win by fall and one by major decision while Furger had a technical fall victory and major decision.
At 174-pounds,
Scott Gifford went 4-2 while
Clay Olson finished 0-2.
Evan Sinram finished 2-2 at 197-pounds.
UW-L returns to action Sunday, February 27 at the WIAC Championships at UW-Platteville.
