Relays Earn Honor; UW-L in 20th-Place Overall

Minneapolis, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team is in 20th-place after the second day of competition at the 2010 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships being held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

The Eagles have 24.0 team points while Kenyon College (Ohio) leads with 366.0. Emory University (Ga.) is second (140.5) followed by Denison University (Ohio) in third (137.0), Kalamazoo College (Mich.) fourth (128.0) and The College of New Jersey fifth (124.0). A total of 45 teams have scored points.

UW-L had a pair of relays earn NCAA Division III Honorable Mention All-America honors Thursday night. The Eagles' 200 freestyle relay of Matt Diehl, Ben Knutson, Joel Knuesel and Spencer Loch placed 10th (1:23.43) while the 400 medley relay of Kevin Misener, Diehl, Knuesel and Loch finished 15th (3:25.61).

It the third All-America honor of this year's championships for Diehl, Knuesel and Loch. All three were members of the Eagles' 14th-place 200 medley relay (1:33.37) Wednesday.

Diehl now has eight career All-America awards while Knuesel and Loch have three. Knutson and Misener picked up their first All-America accolade.
