Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team opened its 2020-21 season with a dual at UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon in Albee Hall. No team scores were recorded.
UWL won five individual titles on Saturday, including two each from
Nicholas Litterer and
Adam Baryenbruch. Litterer captured the 50 (22.50) and 100 (48.67) freestyle while Baryenbruch won the 100 (56.73) and 200 (2:09.28) breaststroke.
Th Eagles'
Will Quackenbush captured the 200 freestyle (1:45.26). He was also second in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.76).
Jacob Brehmer,
Mickey Keating,
Ben Stelter and
Colin Brady all recorded a pair of top-three finishes. Brehmer was second in the 200 I.M. (2:12.52) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:53.71) while Keating placed second in the 50 (23.46) and 100 (51.13) freestyle. Stelter finished third in the 50 (23.70) freestyle and second in the 100 backstroke (1:01.10). Brady finished third in the 100 butterfly (59.92) and 100 backstroke (1:02.99).
Ben Hendel placed second in the 100 butterfly (56.76) while
Blake Harre finished third in the 200 I.M. (2:13.87),
Ben Schaffer third in the 100 freestyle (52.46) and
Andrew Perrin third in the 500 freestyle (5:23.60).
UWL's 200 medley relay of Litterer, Baryenbruch, Hendel and Quackenbush finished first (1:38.14) while the 200 freestyle relay of Quackenbush, Schaffer, Harre and Baryenbruch were second (1:35.92).
