MaKenzie Miller is in her third season as an assistant coach at UW-La Crosse in 2021-22. She has played professionally for two years, starting with the Latrobe City Energy in Traralgon, Victoria, Australia from March through August in 2018. Miller averaged 15.7 points and 13.3 rebounds while being named team MVP and nominated for the Division One Most Valuable Player and All-Star Five-Front Court.
UWL went 5-5 overall and 4-4 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in 2020-21, advancing to the league's tournament semifinals for the fifth straight season while going 4-1 at home. The Eagles finished 19-8 overall and 10-4 in the (WIAC) in 2019-20, tying for second in the league standings. UWL made its fifth appearance, and first since 2010-11, in earning an at-large bid to the 2020 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Tournament.
Miller played for Lemvig (Denmark) Basketball from September 2018 through April 2019, averaging 16.5 points and 9.9 rebounds. Miller was named to the All-Danish Dameligaen Second Team. After playing in Denmark, Miller returned to Australia to play for the Northeast Bushrangers in Wangarratta from April through August in 2019. Selected the team's MVP, Miller averaged 18.9 points and 12.8 rebounds and was named the Big V Player of the Month in June after averaging 25.5 points, 13.8 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.5 assists per game. She was nominated for Division Two Defensive Player of the Year and Most Value Player/All-Start Five.
Miller earned her bachelor's degree from UWL in May 2019 in health and physical education. She was a four-year letter winner for the Eagles, earning three All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC0 honors. Miller was selected to the 2016-17 All-WIAC First Team after being named to the 2014-15 and 2015-16 honorable mention squads.
Named the 2016-17 WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete, Miller maintained a 3.60 grade point average as a four-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. She was a member of UWL's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and volunteered with the school's Motor Development Program and Adult Fitness Program. Miller was also involved with the Adapted Sports League in La Crosse area high schools.
Selected the WIAC Player of the Week a league-high three times in 2016-17, Miller led UWL with 11 double-doubles. She recorded double-doubles in nine straight games, finishing with 22 in her career.
