Bobbi Vandenberg enters her ninth season as a volunteer assistant coach at UW-La Crosse in 2026-27.

UW-La Crosse Volunteer Assistant Coach
  • Since joining the staff in the fall of 2018, the Eagles have compiled a 128-73 record overall and 56-47 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. 
  • UWL has made the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III National Tournament three times including the past two seasons. 
  • The 2025-26 season saw the Eagles claim the programs first ever WIAC Tournament Championship with a 52-49 upset win of top seed UW-Oshkosh to earn the WIAC automatic bid to the NCAA III National Tournament. At the national tournament, UWL defeated LaGrange College (Ga.) 78-52 and Carroll University 80-60 to advance to program's first ever trip to the NCAA III Sweet 16. In the round of 16, UWL defeated Southern Maine University 66-45 to advance to the national quarterfinals where they face top overall seed New York University. The Eagles would fall to New York University 72-47.
  • UWL has advanced to the WIAC tournament in each of Vandenberg's eight seasons on staff. 
Additional Coaching Experience
  • Vandenberg served as the head women's basketball coach at Viterbo University (Wis.) from 1993-2018. During her time at Viterbo (Wis.), Vandenberg led the V-Hawks to two appearances in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in 2001.  Vandenberg guided the V-Hawks to two regular season conference championships and two conference tournament championships. At the time of retirement from Viterbo (Wis.), Vandenberg was 15th on the active NAIA women’s basketball coaches wins list with 318.
  • Prior to Viterbo University, Vandenberg was the head coach at Boulder (Colo.) High School from 1982-87 and 1988-1992. She compiled a 182-28 record there and won Colorado girls state basketball championships five times. A 2017 Colorado High School Activities Association Hall of Fame inductee, Vandenberg was named Denver Post Coach of the Year five times. 
Education and Playing Experience
  • Vandenberg graduated in 1982 from the University of Colorado, Boulder with degrees in biology and biochemistry while earning a teaching certifciate in secondry science. 
  • She was a three-year letter winner in basketball at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

  • Bobbi and her husband, Joe, live in La Crosse and have two children, Patrick and Mollie.Â
