Steve Johnson

Steve Johnson starts his first year as an assistant coach in 2015.  A 1980 graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in education, Johnson played for the Cyclones for Earl Bruce.  He earned a scholarship as a walk-on and played in the Peach Bowl and Hall of Fame Bowl while at Iowa State.  After having stints as a kicker and punter for the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears, Johnson coached and taught at Prospect High School in Mt. Prospect, Illinois.

He then coached at Northern Illinois Univerity for Jerry Pettibone, working with punter Mike Kent and placekicker John Ivanic.  Johnson also coached for Mike Williquette at Green Bay (Wis.) West High School and Bay Port (Wis.) High School.  Williquette, a UW-La Crosse graduate, is a member of the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) Hall of Fame.

Johnson is employed by Delta Airlines.
