UW-La Crosse Men's Track & Field Alumni
Hello Men’s Track and Field Family and Friends,
I hope this message finds you healthy and safe during these unprecedented times. I want to let you all know that as we navigate the current challenges presented by 2020, the goals of our program have not changed. We will provide a championship environment that will allow our men to reach their highest potential as Champions In Sport, In School, and In Life.
Last year at the start of the pandemic, the men were resilient when the news came that we were to be sent home from the NCAA Indoor Championships without competing. When word came that the outdoor season was to be canceled, spirits were low, but those returning for 2020-2021 have vowed to not let the seasons lost be for nothing. They especially want to do right by the 2020 graduates by earning championships this year in their honor.
Many of you have asked how you can help, and I appreciate your continued commitment to our program. Here is how you can help.
As resilient as our men can be mentally in the face of this pandemic, the financial toll it has put on our program isn’t something that we can just motivate ourselves through. We need the assistance of our alumni family and friends. In past years, we have built a stable pool of money with the help of donors and fundraising done here on campus. That pool of money has allowed us to make ends meet to this point. As we move forward, not knowing what the future may hold, we are requesting your financial support to keep our program functioning as you all expect us to function: like champions.
Your generosity supports our team's travel expenses, nutritional needs, meet expenses, high-quality coaches for each event group, and equipment maintenance and upgrades. Additionally, we are looking for ways to fund and budget for travel and meets at special events or venues that will prepare our men for the national championships.
Our program appreciates all you have done for us as athletes, supporters, and alumni. Please consider continuing to positively impact our program with a donation to the men’s track and field team. Help us in our pursuit of championships during the 2021 seasons.
We wish you and your families all the best, and we are thankful to have such a wonderful, supportive Eagle/alumni family.
Sincerely,
Joshua Buchholtz
