La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team improved to 9-0 with a 4-1 victory over MSOE (Wis.) Monday night at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex as part of Pride Week/Playing For A Cause. The Raiders drop to 4-3-4.
The 9-0 start for UWL is the best in school history. The Eagles started 8-0 last season.
RANKINGS
* UWL is ranked 11th on the Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) Poll in partnership with the United Soccer Coaches.
Aubree Caya scored twice in the win.
SERIES RECORD
* UWL now leads the all-time series, 6-2-1, with MSOE. The Raiders earned a 1-0 home victory over the Eagles last season.
HOME SUCCESS
* The Eagles improve to 95-16-12 at home under head coach
Jason Murphy, including 52-2-5 in the last six seasons.
* UWL's last home loss (3-1) came to then fourth-ranked Christopher Newport University (Va.) on September 27, 2024.

Ella Opie recorded the game-winning goal at 9:13, assisted by
Aubree Caya and
Jillian Sawadski.
* Caya extended the lead to 2-0 at 22:03 as Sawadski registered her second assist.
Allison Steeno had recorded an assist.
* UWL finished with nine shots and two corner kicks in the first half.
* MSOE totaled five shots and one corner kick.
Ella Opie recorded the game-winning goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED – SECOND HALF
* Caya scored her second goal of the game at 55:28 to give UWL a 3-0 lead.
* MSOE cut the lead to 3-1 with Shealan Biniam scoring off Claire Bradford's assist at 56:44 off an Raiders' free kick.

Riley Veenendaal recording an assist.
UWL LEADERS
* UWL finished with 16 shots, including 10 on goal. The Eagles had two corner kicks.
* Caya and
Sera Speltz led the team with five shots, including a team-high four on goal by Caya.
* Caya had two goals with Sawadski recording two assists. Opie and Fitt each scored once with Caya, Steeno and Veenendaal having one assist.

* MSOE totaled 12 shots with two on goal. The Raiders finished with two corner kicks.
* Alexis Lugonzo had a team-leading four shots. Biniam scored the lone goal and Bradford recorded the assist. Biniam and Katie Owens each had a shot on goal.
* Teya Baxter suffered the loss, finishing with six saves.
