HOW IT HAPPENED

Game One
  • In game two, UW-Stevens Point would score first as they got a sacrifice fly from Connor Olson to give the Pointers a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third.
  • With two outs in the top of the fourth inning, Luke Walton would give the Eagles a 2-1 lead as he hit his fifth home run of the season. Andrew Palm scored on the home run as he walked early in the inning.
  • UWL would add two more runs in the fifth inning as AJ Levy singled and went to second on a 1-out walk by Charley Rowan. After the Pointers recorded the second out of the inning, Sam Viniard singled to right center field which scored Levy and Rowan to give UWL a 4-1 lead.
  • Once again the Eagles would score two runs in the sixth inning as Walton scored when Levy reached on a throwing error while Levy scored on Chris Calico's double down the right field line.
  • Olson would cut the Eagles lead to 6-3 in the bottom half of the sixth inning as he hit a two run home run with no outs. Then with one out, back-to-back RBI singles by Nick Argersinger and Easton Snow pulled the Pointers to within 6-5.
  • With the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning, Levy was hit by a pitch which forced in Keegan Fleischman to make it 7-5. With two outs and the bases still loaded, Calico was able to score from third base on a wild pitch to make it 8-5.
  • UWL relief pitcher Nate Edelman retire the Pointers in order in both the eighth and ninth inning to record the save.

    Game Two
  • Once again it was the Pointers who scored first as they put three runs on the board in the third inning to take an early 3-0 lead. Kamden Oliver provided the big hit as he drove in two runs with a single to right field.
  • UWL would get one of those runs back in the top of the fourth as Rowan led off with a double and scored on Walton's single to center field.
  • Still trailing 3-1 in the seventh inning, UWL's Levy led off the inning with a walk and stole second base. After Calvin Hargrove moved Levy to third with a fly out to center field, Calico singled to Levy and cut the Eagles deficit to 3-2.
  • In the eighth inning, Walton was hit by a pitch to start the inning and went to second on Brady Burrill's sacrifice bunt. Then with two outs, Flieschman walked and both Fleischman and Walton advanced a bag on a wild pitch. Levy would then put the Eagles on top 4-3 as his single to center field scored both Fleischman and Walton.
  • Austin Olla would come on in the ninth inning for the Eagles and retire the Pointers in order to record the save.
