HOW IT HAPPENED

Game One
  • Kamden Oliver gave UW-Stevens Point an early 2-0 lead with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning.
  • Luke Walton was hit by a pitch to start the third inning and went to second on AJ Levy's bunt single. Chris Calico would move Walton and Levy up a base with a sacrifice bunt. A Charley Rowan ground out would score Walton to cut the Eagles deficit to 2-1.
  • The Eagles would take the lead in the top of the fifth inning as they scored two runs on two hits. An RBI single from Rowan and a sacrifice fly by Brady Burrill put the Eagles on top 3-2.
  • A Jackson Adams RBI double in the bottom of the fifth and an RBI double by Braylon Nystrom in the sixth inning gave UW-Stevens Point a 4-3 lead.
  • UWL would score three runs in both the seventh and eighth inning to lead 9-4. With one out in the seventh, Levy singled and advanced to second when Calico walked. After Rowan reached on a fielders choice to load the bases, Burrill doubled to left center which scored both Calico and Levy. Sam Viniard brough home Rowan when he grounded out to first based.
  • An RBI sac bunt by Levy put UWL up 7-4 in in the eighth inning. Calico's single scored Walton who had singled earlier in the inning before Calico scored on a wild pitch to make it 9-4.
  • The Eagles would add an insurance run in the top of the ninth on Keegan Fleischman's single which scored Sam Viniard

    Game Two
  • In game two, UW-Stevens Point would score first on a bases loaded ground out by Oliver.
  • Burrill led off the fourth with a triple and scored on Viniard's double to tie the game 1-1. Andrew Plam would then walk and both Palm and Viniard moved to second and third on Fleischman's sacrifice bunt. Viniard would score on Walton's ground out while Palm scored on Emiliano Ramos' single to give UWL a 3-1 win.
  • Oliver would tied the game up for the Pointers with his second two-run home in the fifth inning.
  • Walton would put UWL back on top with an RBI single in the top of the sixth; however, that lead was short lived as Drew Mistele had an RBI single of his own in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 4-4.
  • The Eagles took a 7-4 lead in the seventh as Calvin Hargrove led off the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a bunt single by Calico. After a wild pitch allowed Hargrove and Calico to advance a base, Rowan hit a sacrifice fly which scored Hargrove. Burrill would then make it 7-4 with an RBI single which scored Calico.
  • UW-Stevens Point would score three unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game back up at 7-7.
  • The Pointers would score five runs on three hits in the bottom of the eighth to lead 12-7. Nystrom would provide the big hit as he hit a three-run home run while Oliver and Connor Olson each drove in a run with a single.
