HOW IT HAPPENED

Game One
  • The Eagles took an early 2-0 lead in game one Charley Rowan and Luke Walton each drove in runs with singles. Chris Calico led of the game with a walk, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Rowan's single. With two outs, Andrew Palm and Keegan Fleischman walked. Walton would then bring Palm into score with his single.
  • In the fourth inning, Emiliano Ramos doubled with one out and went to third on a ground out by Matthew Sonnenschein. After AJ Levy walked, Levy advanced to second on a throwing error which allowed Ramos to score and put UWL up 3-0.
  • Walton singled to start the sixth inning and stole second with one out. Walton would move to third on Sonnenschein's fly out to center field. Levy singled to left field to score Walton and extend the Eagles lead to 4-0. After Levy stole second base, Calico singled to left field to bring Levy home from second to make it 5-0.
  • An RBI ground out by Cole Pleimann in the bottom of the sixth inning would be the lone run St. Olaf would score.

    Game Two
  • UWL would score three runs in the top of the first inning for an early lead. With one out, Brady Burrill singled, stole second base and advanced to third when Sam Viniard reached on an error. Keegan Fleischman would then double to score both Burrill and Viniard followed by Walton's single which scored Fleischman to give UWL the 3-0 lead.
  • St. Olaf would get one of those runs back in their half of the first inning as Henry Black doubled and scored on Frank Lavin's single.
  • With two outs in the top of the second inning, Burrill tripled to right center field and scored on Viniards double to left field. Fleischman would then bring Viniard into score on a single to left center to put UWL up 5-1.
  • The score would remain that way until the bottom of the fifth as the Oles scored four runs on two hits and an error to tie the game at 5-5. Kanen Kreafle tied the game with a solo home run to left field.
  • UWL would take a 6-5 lead in the seventh inning as Viniard singled and went to second on Walton's single with one out. Sonnenschein would pinch run for Viniard and move to third on Ramos' fly out to right field. Sonnenschein then gave the Eagles a 6-5 lead when he scored on a wild pitch.
  • A Burrill RBI single in the top of the 8th would score Calico who had reached on a fielders choice and advanced to second on a throwing error to give UWL a 7-5 lead.
  • UWL relief pitcher Austin Olla pitched a clean eighth inning before the Oles would threaten in the ninth inning. With two outs, St. Olaf would get back-to-back singles by Jack Pettit and Black; however, Kanen Kreafle would fly out to right field for the final out.
