Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team finished third at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Gymnastics Championships/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional (presented by Culver's) at Winona State University (Minn.) at McCown Gymnasium. 
 
THE BASICS
Final Scores: UW-Oshkosh posted a score of 195.175 to win the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional, while UW-Whitewater was second with a193.825, UW-La Crosse third with 193.100, UW-Eau Claire fourth with 192.050, Winona State University (Minn.) fifth with 191.925, Simpson College (Iowa) sixth with 189.625, Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) seventh with 186.550, UW-Stout eighth with 186.300 and Hamline University (Minn.) ninth with 184.200.

NCGA National Championship Implications: The conference meet also serves as the West Region qualifier for the NCGA Championship scheduled for Saturday, March 20 at State University of New York Cortland. The top two teams from the WIAC event, along with qualified gymnasts and potential at-large teams will advance to the NCGA meet. UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater earned automatic spots into the national event by placing in the top two. UWL awaits for an At-large bid which will be announced at a later date.
Eagles Earn Conference Honors: Senior Grace Kehr was named the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete. Lucy Warren was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.         

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
    VAULT

• As a team, the Eagles scored a 48.500 as UW--Oshk0sh scored the highest team score with a 48.775. .
• Grace Kehr was the Eagles top finisher on the vault with a 9.775.
• Also scoring for the Eagles was Ava Kaspryzcki (9.700), Paige Breckwoldt (9.675), Ashley Dalton (9.675) and Cobi Powell (9.675)
• Reanna McGibboney of  UW-Oshkosh won the WIAC Championship on the vault with a 9.850. 

    UNEVEN PARALLEL BARS

• As a team, the Eagles scored a 47.700 as UW-Oshkosh scored the highest team score with a 48.500
• Ashlyn Barker and Claire Robbins tied for fifth place on the bars with a 9.675.
• Also scoring for the Eagles on the bars was Madalyn McCormick (9.550), Ava Sitek (9.450) and Azia Hawkins (9.350).
• Elaine Copeland of  UW-Whitewater and Lydia Hayden won the WIAC Championship on the uneven parallel bars as they both scored a 9.800.. 

    BALANCE BEAM

• Raina Christenson scores a school record 9.900 to finish second on the balance beam. 
• Lauren Main and Robbins would tie for fourth place as they scored a 9.825.
• Warren (9.725) and McCormick (9.675) also scored for the Eagles. 
• Ome Ellis of  UW-Oshkosh won the WIAC Championship on the uneven parallel bars with a 9.925. 
• The Eagles finished with a high team score on the balance beam with a 48.950. 

    FLOOR EXERCISE

• Breckwoldt would lead the Eagles on the floor exercise as she scored a (9.750) while Robbins (9.650), Kehr (9.625), Hunter Matulka (9.500) and Grace Edwards (9.425) also scored for the Eagles. 
• The Titans of UW-Oshkosh scored a event high 48.775 on the floor exercise while UW-La Crosse recorded a 47.950.
