D3hoops.com All-Region 9

La Crosse, Wis. -
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse junior guard Sam Grieger of Randolph (H.S.), senior guard Dustin Derousseau of Tomah (H.S.) and senior forward JJ Paider of Neenah (H.S.) have been named to the 2025-26 D3hoops.com All-Region Team, the organization announced Monday.

Grieger was selected to the All-Region First Team and the Region Player of the Year with Derousseau and Paider being named to the All-Region Second Team. Grieger is the first player in school history to be voted the D3hoops.com Region Player of the Year.

Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools. There were 797 players nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to a number of Sports Information Directors, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region. It's the 25th season D3hoops.com has named All-Region teams. Division III basketball is organized into 10 regions. A region with 40 teams or more has three All-Region teams honored, while a region with fewer than 40 teams has a first and second team. This organization results in approximately 10 additional players being recognized when compared to full seasons in the old eight-region alignment.

Players from the All-Region Teams are eligible for the D3hoops.com All-America teams with the men's basketball All-America team released the week of March 28.

Sam Grieger averaged 25.7 points
per game this season.
It is the second D3hoops.com All-Region award for Grieger and Derousseau and first for Paider. Grieger was named to the 2024-25 D3hoops.com All-Region Second Team while Derousseau earned All-Region Third Team accolades.
