La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team hosted the
Barry Schockmel Diving Classic Saturday in the
Richard Pein Natatorium in Mitchell Hall. No team scores were recorded.
The Eagles'
Ethan Pedersen placed third in the one-meter competition (393.80 points) and fourth in the three-meter (386.40) while
Aanav Patel was third in the three-meter (414.15) and fourth in the one-meter (384.35).
Luke Zocher placed sixth in the three-meter (327.85) and seventh in the one-meter (302.85) with
Nathaniel Gehm finishing eighth in the one-meter (229.35).Â

Schockmel completed his 49th season as UWL's Diving Coach in 2018-19. He is credited with guiding the development of UWL's divers.Â
Jane Marien was a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) champion in 1989 under Schockmel's tutelage.
Amanda Medendorp earned seven National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) III All-America honors while
Rachel LaValley and
Kayley Alioto each earned four All-America awards under Schockmel.Â
Justin Bublitz earned six career NCAA Division III All-America diving honors under Schockmel, the most for a UWL diver in school history. Â
UWL earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Diver of the Meet in 11 times and Men's Diver of the Meet three seasons under Schockmel.
UWL returns to action Wednesday, February 18 at the WIAC Championships in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.
