Eagles Defeat UW-Oshkosh; Breckwoldt Wins Vault And Floor Exercise; Christenson and McCormick Win Bars

Paige Breckwoldt leads the Eagles by winning both the vault and the floor exercise
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team would win three event titles on their way to defeating Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent UW-Oshkosh on Friday night. 

THE BASICS
Final Score: UW-La Crosse 192.450, UW-Oshkosh 190.875
Location: Mitchell Hall, La Crosse, Wis. 
Next Up: The Eagles will be back in action on Friday, February 13 when they travel to St. Peter, Minn. to compete against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.). Competition is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
   
VAULT
  • As a team, the Eagles scored a 48.050 on the vault while UW-Oshkosh scored a 47.975.
  • With a 9.675 on the vault, Paige Breckwoldt took home the event title. 
  • Titans' Hannah Hughes finished second with a 9.625.
  • UWL teammates, Ashley Dalton, Ava Kaspryzcki and Sarah Pastore tied for third place with a 9.600. 
    UNEVEN PARALLEL BARS
  • UWL took home two of the top four spots on the  uneven parallel bars as they scored a 47.900 as a team. UW-Oshkosh finished with a team total of 48.325. 
  • Leading the way for the Eagles was Madalyn McCormick who finished tied for second with a 9.750.
  • Also finishing in the top five for the Eagles was Claire Robbins with a 9.700 to tie for fourth.
  • Averie Evans of UW-Oshkosh would win the event with a 9.800.

    BALANCE BEAM
  • UWL would take home the top four spots individually as they scored a 48.500 on the balance beam.
  • Raina Christenson and McCormick would tie for the event title as they both recorded a 9.800. 
  • Finishing third individually was Lauren Main with a 9.700 while Robbins finished fourth with a 9.650. 
  • Hannah Hughes was the top finisher for the Titans with a 9.600 as UW-Oshkosh recorded a 47.275 as a team. 

    FLOOR EXERCISE
  • Breckwoldt would win her second event of the night as her floor exercise routine scored a 9.700. 
  • Jay Ratkowski would be the top scorer for the Titans as she finished second overall with a 9.675. 
  • With a 9.625, Grace Kehr and Robbins would tie for third while Adeline Snyder finished fifth with a 9.575. 
  • As a team, UWL scored a 48.000 on the floor exercise while UW-Oshkosh finished with a 47.300.
