La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 5-0 victory over Lawrence University (Wis.) Friday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. Lawrence (Wis.) drops to 1-1-1.
It is UWL's third straight shutout to start the season after a 7-0 win over Carroll University (Wis.) on August 29 and 6-0 over UW-Superior on September 2. The Eagles have outscored their three opponents, 18-0.
Kate Heiderscheit recorded a goal and assist in the win.
It marks the second time in the last three years UWL has started the season with at least three shutouts. The Eagles recorded four straight shutouts to start the 2023 season.
UWL leads the all-time series, 5-0, with Lawrence (Wis.).

Aubree Caya assist. The Eagles extended the lead to 2-0 on
Amaya Thesing's penalty kick goal at 26:46.
The Eagles outshot the Vikings, 12-4, in the first half and held the corner kicks advantage, 6-2.
Thesing notched her second goal of the game at 55:16 on assists from Heiderscheit and
Catherine Arnold for a 3-0 lead.

UWL recorded 37 shots in the game, including 14 on goal. Thesing (four on goal) and Williams (one on goal) led the Eagles with six shots. Heiderscheit recorded five shots, including two on goal, while Carrillo had four shots with two coming on goal. Caya, Studebaker and
Kaitlyn Kurtz each finished with three shots in the game. UWL had 11 corner kicks.
Lawrence (Wis.) finished with nine shots, four on goal. Erica Grube, Kate Noonan, Hannah Kalt and Maddie Schellinger each had two shots with Grube recording both on goal. The Vikings had two corner kicks. Ella Lysne took the loss, registering nine saves.
UWL returns to action Saturday, September 6 hosting Grinnell College (Iowa) at 3 p.m.
