Northfield, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Men's Cross Country team had six of the top 11 finishers to help lead them to a first place finish at the St. Olaf College (Minn.) Invitational Saturday morning.
THE BASICS
Results: With the top five Eagles finishing in the top-10, UWL won the invitational with 32 points while St. Olaf College (MInn.) was second with 71 points. Rounding out the top five was UW-Eau Claire (78 points) in third, Lakehead University (Onatario, Canada) (142 points) in fourth and UW-Stout (144) in fifth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mohammed Bati of Augsburg University (Minn.) won the individual title with a time of 24:42.5
- Aidan Matthai led the Eagles with a fourth place finish in a time of 25:30.5 while Aidan Manning finished fifth in a time of 25:37.0.
- Next for the Eagles was Jayden Zywicki as he finished the 8k course in a time of 25:37.2 for a sixth place finish.
- The fourth Eagle to cross the finish line was Nico Castellanos in seventh place with a time of 25:45.1.
- Rounding out the scoring for the Eagles was Grant Matthai who finished 10th with a time of 25:51.1.
- Also running for the Eagles on Saturday was Declan Gregg (25:52.1, 11th), Owen Layton (25:55.9, 14th), Nash Merklein (26:00.1, 17th), Chase Altergott (26:03.8, 20th), Aiden Jakubic (26:05.4, 22nd), Layne Aurit (26:05.8, 23rd), Adam Loenser (26:09.0), Logan Salzmann (26:09.9), Chuck Vater (26:16.2), Isaac Ewing (26:26.6, 34th), Owen Pope (26:30.9, 38th), Brady Norman (26:36.0, 40th), Mitch Garcia (26:48.0, 48th) and Liam Tindall (28:06.5, 97th)
