Box Score 2 La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team picked up a pair of wins on Wednesday night as they defeated St. Mary's University (Minn.) 3-0 and Luther College (Iowa) 3-1.

- Trailing 8-7, St. Mary's went on a 8-3 run to take a 15-11 lead. The Eagles responded with a 6-0 run of their own to lead 17-15. Reese Yocum recorded two kills while Kayla Sexton added a kills and Maddy Wilson had a service ace to spark the run. After the Cardinals tied the set up at 18, UWL scored seven of the next eight points, including six in a row at one point. Sexton served two aces to help the Eagles finish the set on the run.
- Tied 7-7 in the second set, UWL went on a 5-1 run to lead 12-18. The Cardinals would cut their deficit to 13-11 but UWL quickly extended their lead to 22-13 with a 9-2 run and the Eagles did not look back as they took set two 25-16.
- UWL jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the third set and would extend their lead to 15-7 as the Cardinals would not get any closer than seven the rest of the way. UWL took its largest lead of the set at 23-11.
FROM THE BOXSCORE
- Sexton led the Eagles offense with 11 kills while Grace Nommensen added nine kills.
- Yocum finished with six kills and just one error in 10 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage
- Megan Lund and Kailyn Kurth set up the offense for the Eagles as they finished with 17 and 11 assists, respectively.
- Taylor Larson finished with a team high 11 digs while Nommensen added nine and Sexton finished with eight.

UW-La Crosse 3, Luther College (Iowa) 1 (25-11, 25-18, 19-25, 25-15)
- UWL scored five of the first six points of set one as they got two kills from Sexton and a service ace by Nommensen. UWL extended their lead to 20-5 before Luther scored three straight to make it 20-8. The Eagles then scored five of the final eight points to win set one 25-11.
- Back-to-back kills by Julianne Lundvall would give Luther a 10-8 lead before the Eagles scored six straight to take a 14-10 lead. The Norse of Luther College battled back to tie the set at 17-17. The Eagles would then scored eight of the final nine points to win the second set 25-18. Nommensen would score three kills while Lund had two service aces to spark the Eagles run.
- The two teams would trade the lead back and forth in the third set before Luther scored six straight points to lead 19-14. The Eagles would score three of the next four points; however, the Norse then scored three straight to lead 23-17. Back-to-back kills by Grace Turlais would make it 23-19 however the Norse would score the final two points to win set three 25-19.
- UWL scored the first three points of set four and eventually took a12-5 lead with a 5-0 run that included two service aces by Larson. Luther would cut their deficit to 12-9 but UWL scored eight of the next 11 points to lead 20-12. The Eagles would not let the Norse get any closer than seven as UWL won set four 25-15.
FROM THE BOXSCORE
- Turlais led the Eagles with 12 kills.
- Nommensen recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs while Sexton added eight kills and seven digs.
- Lund also finished with a double-double as she had a team high 15 assists to go along with 11 digs.
- Larson finished with a match high 19 digs for the Eagles.
