La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team extended its winning streak to five with an 15-4 victory against UW-Stout Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Eagles improve to 5-2 on the season while the Blue Devils drop to 5-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opener for both teams.
Angie Olla had two goals and one assist in the win.
UWL took a commanding 8-0 lead over UW-Stout after the first quarter.
Evie Brilz scored a man-up goal assisted by
Joslyn Brotemarkle with 11:34 left for a 1-0 lead. Goals by

Megan Maloney, and
Ava Schiltz extended the Eagles led to 4-0 with 7:24 left in the first quarter. Brilz scored back-to-back goals to give herself a hat trick in the first quarter to make it 6-0. Olla added to the lead with a goal assisted by Brilz followed by a free position shot by
Ava Schiltz to finish out the quarter 8-0.
The Eagles would add to their lead by scoring the first three goals of the second period, making it 11-0. Maloney scored back-to-back goals, giving her a hat trick for the game.
Emily Wrobbel got on the board with a goal assisted by Schiltz for a 11-0 lead. UW-Stout scored its first goal on an Abigail Todey shot with 4:18 left in the first half to make it 11-1.
Tori Katzenmeyer scored twice on Saturday.
UWL's Schiltz recorded a goal to make her the third player with a hat trick on the day to start off the second half. Maloney's fourth goal assisted by
Katie Klicker made it 13-1. The Eagles'
Tori Katzenmeyer scored with 3:21 left in the third quarter to make it 14-1.
UW-Stout cut into the deficit with a goal from Megan Palmer with 13:33 left in the game assisted by Brinley Tonn who then had a goal assisted by Mai Nou to make it 14-3 with 10:45 remaining. Katzenmeyer scored from Klicker to make it 15-3 with 8:07 left. The Blue Devils finished off the scoring with Nou at 0:40 remaining to make it 15-4.
UWL had 35 shots in the game. Maloney led UWL with four goals while Brilz and Schiltz each had three. Klicker and Brotemarkle had two assists for the Eagles.
Stefania Rossi earned the win, recorded one save while playing the first half.
Bree Rhodes had two saves in the second half. Rossi led UWL with six ground balls while Olla had a team-high five draw controls.
Evie Brilz finished with three goals
and one assist.
UW-Stout finished with 11 shots. Four different Blue Devils had goals in the game. Emily Bullock took the loss, registering ten saves. Bullock had a team-high four ground balls.
UWL returns to action Wednesday, April 2 hosting UW-River Falls in the inaugural Bird Bowl at 5 p.m. The teams are joining forces to raise funds to support pediatric cancer research, partnering with LaCROSSEe Out Cancer. A trophy will be presented to the winning team each season.
