Waukesha, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team extended its winning streak to four with an 11-7 victory at Carroll University (Wis.) Saturday afternoon at Schneider Stadium.

The Eagles improve to 4-2 on the season while the Pioneers drop to 6-2.

Carroll (Wis.) took a 1-0 lead with 12:52 remaining in the first quarter on an Eliana Phaneuf goal assisted by Grace Brockman. Abby Tubbs' goal with 10:10 left gave the Pioneers a 2-0 lead. The Eagles cut the lead to 2-1 with 9:31 remaining after Ava Schiltz' goal. Phaneuf gave Carroll (Wis.) a two-goal lead at 3-1 with Brockman recording the assist with 5:43 left in the first quarter.

Angie Olla scored with 4:07 left on an Evie Brilz assist to start a 3-0 scoring run for UWL. Brilz goal with :37 remaining after Schiltz assist to tie the game at 3-3. Schiltz gave the Eagles a 4-3 lead with :04 left on Megan Maloney assist.

The Pioneers tied the game at 4-4 with 14:26 left in the second quarter with Elizabeth Wang scoring. The Eagles regained the lead with Megan Feeney scoring with 13:39 remaining to make it 5-4. The back-and-forth contest continued with Sierra Skack tying the game for Carroll (Wis.) with 7:20 left on a Tubbs assist.

Brockman's goal gave Carroll (Wis.) a 6-5 lead with 5:30 remaining in the first half. The Pioneers maintained their 6-5 lead at halftime.

UWL outscored Carroll (Wis.), 6-1, in the second half, including 4-1 in the third quarter. Schiltz' goal with 13:07 left in the third quarter tied the game, 6-6, and Brilz scored off Tori Katzenmeyer's assist with 11:03 remaining gave the Eagles a 7-6 lead. Olla gave UWL a two-goal lead at 8-6 with 9:39 left.

Carroll (Wis.) cut the deficit to 8-7 with 8:51 remaining in the third quarter on Brockman's goal, but Schiltz scored with :17 left to make it 9-7.

The Eagles scored the only goals of the fourth quarter. Schiltz scored with 7:15 remaining for a 10-7 lead and Brilz added another goal on a Schiltz assist with 1:26 left for the final margin of 11-7.

Schiltz led UWL with five goals and two assists while Brilz had three goals and one assist. Olla recorded two goals. Stefania Rossi earned the win, recording 11 saves.

Phaneuf and Brockman led Carroll (Wis.) with two goals each. Brockman added two assists. Devon Duym took the loss, registering three saves.

UWL returns to action Saturday, March 29 hosting UW-Stout in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opener at 1 p.m.
