Four Members of Swimming & Diving Team Set for NCAA III Championships; Action Starts Wednesday

Four members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team is set to compete at the 2025 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday-Saturday, March 19-22. The meet will be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
 
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference and the Greensboro Aquatic Center will serve as co-hosts. A total of 579 participants (526 swimmers; 53 divers) will compete in the championships. 
 
Action is scheduled to begin each day at 9 a.m. (Central) with preliminary events.  The finals are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. (Central).

Hahlen will compete in the 100 and 200 backstroke while Rank qualified in the 200 I.M. Hahlen, Rank, Cleveland and Austin will also compete in the 200 and 800 freestyle relay and 200 and 400 medley relays.
 
It will be Hahlen's second career appearance at the NCAA Division III Championships. She placed 20th in the 100 backstroke preliminaries in 2024. Hahlen is ranked 16th in the 100 backstroke heading into this year's national meet.
 
Cleveland, Austin and Rank will also make their first career trip to the NCAA III Championships.
 
Hahlen swept the 100 (55.82) and 200 (2:03.48) backstroke at the 2025 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships. It marked her third league title (2022, 2024, 2025) in the 100 backstroke. Hahlen was also seventh in the 200 I.M. (2:13.27) this year.
 
Cleveland placed second in the 100 freestyle (52.78), fourth in the 50 freestyle (24.27) and fifth in the 100 backstroke (58.83) at this year's WIAC Championships while Austin was third in the 100 butterfly (57.88) and sixth in the 100 (1:05.99) and 200 (2:26.69) breaststroke.
 
Rank was named the WIAC Newcomer of the Year after recording three top-four individual finishes, including winning the 200 I.M. (2:05.54). She finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.90) and fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.06).
 
Hahlen, Rank, Austin and Cleveland won the 200 (1:43.60) and 400 (3:47.25) medley relay crowns at the 2025 WIAC Championships. The Eagles set a school and meet record in winning the 400 medley relay. It was Hahlen's second (2022, 2025) title as a member of the 400 medley relay. She earned her fourth straight league title in the 200 medley relay while Cleveland garnered her second WIAC Championship.
 
Cleveland was also a member of UWL's winning 200 (1:35.57) and 400 (3:31.28) freestyle relays at the league championships. She was joined by Callie Klepp, Mikayla Knaffla and Ava Pulvermacher on the 200 freestyle relay with Reilly Eiynck, Pulvermacher and Emily Schoenbrodt on the 400 freestyle relay. Cleveland was also a member of the Eagles' winning 200 freestyle relay last season.
 
UWL, led by head coach Steve Mohs, captured its 22nd WIAC Championship in school history this year. It was the third title under Mohs, who was named the 2025 WIAC Coach of the Year.

The top-eight finishers in each event earn NCAA III All-America honors while ninth through 16th-place earn NCAA III Honorable Mention accolades.
