Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team fell 165-134 at UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon at the UWSP Aquatics Center.
The Eagles drop to 3-2 in duals, including 2-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
UWL won six individual events on Saturday, including three by
Ben Collins. He captured the 200 freestyle (1:48.01), 100 (1:00.53) and 200 (2:10.75) breaststroke.
The Eagles'
Jonah Elfers won the 100 butterfly (54.31) and
Tyler Hartmann the 200 I.M. (2:00.37).
Tony McNiff took the one-meter (287.70 points) diving competition. He was also second (270.95) in the three-meter. The Eagles'
Evan Zimdars placed third in the one (222.05) and three (235.30) meter.
UWL won the 400 medley relay (3:31.64) with
Zach Vinson, Collins, Elfers and
Blake Nelson. The 200 freestyle relay was second (1:26.67) with Nelson, Elfers,
Alex Starr and Hartmann.
Other top-three individual finishes included Nelson second (21.49) and Hartmann third (21.98) in the 50 freestyle while
Davin Evans finished second (5:06.02) and
Caleb Jondle third (5:06.31) in the 500 freestyle. Evans was also third (10:47.56) in the 1,000 freestyle.
Hartmann finished second (1:00.91) in the 100 breaststroke while Evans was third (2:18.73) in the 200 breaststroke.
Caleb Jondle was second (2:03.07) with Vinson third (2:06.23) in the 200 butterfly.
Sean Gillett finished third (2:05.73) in the 200 backstroke.
