Dubuque, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Women's Basketball snapped a two game losing streak with a non-conference win over the University of Dubuque on Saturday afternoon.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- The Eagles built an early 11-4 (4:55) lead but the Spartans scored five straight to cut their deficit to 11-9 with 3:47 left in the first quarter. UWL would then score the final seven points of the quarter including a three-pointer by Katie Waukau as the Eagles led 18-9.
- UWL would extend its run as they scored nine of the first 11 points to lead 27-12 with 2:33 left in the first half. Dubuque would cut their deficit to 30-20 at the half.
- In the third quarter, Dubuque's Taylor Martin hit a three-pointer to pull the Spartans to within 30-25 (8:01). UWL would quickly extend its lead back to double digits as they went on a 13-5 run to lead 43-30 with 0:33 seconds left in the third quarter. Dubuque would hit a layup with 0:03 on clock to trail 43-32 heading into the fourth quarter.
- Dubuque had one run left as they scored nine of the first 12 points in the fourth quarter to pull with in seven (6:58). However, that would be as close as the Spartans would get as the Eagles closed the game on a 14-3 run over the final 6:46 of the game.

- As a team, the Eagles finished 25-of-52 (48.1%) from the floor including five-of-15(33.3%) from the three-point line. UWL was also nine-of-14 (64.3%) from the free throw line.
- Ellie Schiszik, LIndsey Knuth and Grace Knupp each had nine points to lead the Eagles offensively.
- Ali Sprangers and Knuth each had seven rebounds to help give the Eagles a 44-27 advantage on the boards.
- Knupp also finished with a team high five assists while adding five rebounds.
- The Spartans shot 15-of-55 (27.3%) from the floor including three-of-24 (69.2%) from the three-point line. Dubuque was also nine-of-13 (69.2%) from the free throw line.
- Christina Simonetti led the Spartans with 13 points and six rebounds.
