Thursday's Results
Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team completed first day action at the Rochester Invitational Thursday night at the Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium.
The Eagles are in second-place with 475.0 points. St. Cloud State University (Minn.) leads the eight-team invitational with 706.0 points.
UWL's
Preston Nygaard was second (1:53.71) and
Jacob Ketterling third (1:54.71) in the 200 I.M. on Thursday with
Caleb Jondle ninth (1:57.81) and
Sean Gillett 15th (2:01.94).
Tyler Hartmann recorded a pair of top-seven finishes, including sixth (20.76) in the 50 freestyle and seventh (51.04) in the 100 butterfly.
Jesse Hammes finished eighth (21.14) in the 50 freestyle while
Jonah Elfers was eighth (51.39), Gillett 14th (52.43) and Jondle 15th (52.58) in the 100 butterfly.
UWL's
Owen Acker was 10th (4:49.42) and
Nolan Sannito 16th (5:00.06) in the 500 freestyle.
The Eagles'
Aanav Patel placed seventh (320.70 points) in the one-meter diving competition.
Both relays finished fourth on Thursday with Hammes, Nygaard, Elfers and Hartmann fourth in the 200 medley relay (1:31.84) and Nygaard, Jondle,
Gavin LaBeau and
Ben Collins fourth in the 800 freestyle relay (7:05.97).
