La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team earned a 182-116 dual victory over Saint John's University (Minn.) Saturday in the
Richard Pein Natatorium in Mitchell Hall.
UWL swept the relays on Saturday as
Jacob Ketterling,
Preston Nygaard,
Caleb Jondle and
Tyler Hartmann winning the 400 medley relay (3:35.35). Hartmann, Ketterling,
Luca Nociti and
Jesse Hammes captured the 200 freestyle relay (1:26.09).
The Eagles won eight swimming titles, including a pair from
Tyler Hartmann. He won the 100 freestyle (48.15) and 100 breaststroke (1:00.16).
Hammes won the 50 freestyle (21.49) while
Coby Zander captured the 100 backstroke (55.51) and Jondle the 100 butterfly (53.99).
Isaac Mozena captured the 200 butterfly (2:04.48), Ketterling the 200 backstroke (2:01.90) and Nygaard the 200 breaststroke (2:06.38).
Nygaard was also second in the 400 I.M. (4:21.16) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:48.87).
Hammes finished second (54.50) and Mozena third (54.95) in the 100 butterfly with Nick Ellerd second (2:09.86) and
Rylan Close third (2:15.16) in the 200 butterfly.
UWL's
Sean Gillett was second in the 100 (57.19) and 200 (2:08.91) backstroke while Nathan Gehm placed third in the 200 backstroke (2:10.42).
Davin Evans finished third in the 1,650 freestyle (17:51.31), 400 I.M. (4:35.54) and 100 breaststroke (1:02.68).
Nolan Sannito was third in the 500 freestyle (5:12.95) and
Gabe DeWald third in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.38).
Aanav Patel won the three-meter diving title (242.25 points) and placed second in the one-meter (218.70).
Ethan Pedersen was third in one-meter (197.20).
UWL returns to action Friday, November 21 at the Luther College (Iowa) Invitational.
