Colfax, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country team captured the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III North Regional Saturday afternoon at Whitetail Golf Course.
The Eagles, ranked first in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Top 35 Poll, finished with 30 team points to win its eighth (2001, 2004-07, 2023-25) regional title in school history, including third straight.
UW-Stevens Point placed second on Saturday with 110 points.

UWL and UW-Stevens Point earn automatic bids to the NCAA Division III Championships with the top two finishes.
The NCAA Division III Championships are scheduled for Saturday, November 22 at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
UW-Platteville placed third (120 points) and St. Olaf College (Minn.) fourth (128) followed by UW-Whitewater (166), UW-Eau Claire (173), UW-Oshkosh (236), UW-Stout (277), MSOE, Wis. (284) and UW-River Falls (319) to round out the top 10. A total of 31 teams competed.
All seven of UWL's runners earned NCAA III All-Region accolades with top 35 finishes on Saturday, including four in the top seven. The Eagles'
Grant Matthai was second overall with a time of 24:29.4 on the 8,000-meter course with
Aidan Matthai third (24:33.2),
Jayden Zywicki fourth (24:34.9) and
Joey Sullivan seventh (24:44.1).
Chuck Vater finished 14th (25:16.0),
Mason Brown 15th (25:18.1) and
Owen Clark 18th (25:20.3).
Mohammed Bati of Augsburg (Minn.) won the regional individual title (24:23.7) on Saturday. A total of 214 runners completed the race.
UW-Eau Claire served as host of the regional championships.
