Decorah, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country team earned a dual win at Luther College (Iowa) Friday night.
The Eagles, ranked first in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, finished with 21 team points while the Norse totaled 34.
UWL had four of the top-five finishers, including
Aiden Jakubic winning the individual title with a time of 15:30.5 on the 5,000-meter course.
Chase Altergott was second (15:35.1),
Thomas Menefee third (15:38.6) and
Jayden Sayles fifth (15:53.4).
The Eagles'
Brady Norman was 10th (16:07.9),
Owen Pope 11th (16:10.5) and
Liam Tindall 16th (16:24.6).
A total of 32 runners completed the race.
UWL returns action Saturday, November 1 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships at 12 p.m. at Moore's Field of Dreams in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
