Eagles Open Up 2025 Season With Dual Win At Hamline; Win All Four Events

St. Paul, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team opened the 2025 season by defeating Hamline University (Minn.) in a dual meet Sunday afternoon. 

THE BASICS
Final Score: UW-La Crosse 189.600, Hamline University (Minn.) 179.475
Location: Walker Fieldhouse, St. Paul, Minn. 
Next Up: The Eagles will return to action on Friday, January, 17 when they travel to Eau Claire, Wis. to take on the Blugolds of UW-Eau Claire at 6 p.m.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
   
VAULT
  • The Eagles took home four of the top five spots in the vault as they scored a 47.725 as a team. Hamline scored a 45.775 as a team.
  • Winning the event was Sarah Pastore with a score of 9.675.
  • Tying for second was teammates Grace Kehr and Lily Millington with a 9.600.
  • Finishing fifth in the vault was Lainey Vogt with a 9.425.
    UNEVEN PARALLEL BARS
  • Claire Robbins scored a 9.600 on the uneven parallel bars to win the event as UWL took home the top four spots.
  • Lauren Main was second with a 9.450 while Madalyn McCormick finished third (9.425).
  • In fourth place was Ashlyn Barker with 9.300.
  • As a team, the Eagles scored a 46.875 while the Pipers recorded a 44.100.

    BALANCE BEAM
  • Lauren Main was the top finisher overall on the balance beam as she scored a 9.700.
  • Tied for second was Kyla Dickson and McCormick as they each recorded a 9.600
  • In fourth place, Lucy Warren scored a 9.525 for the Eagles. 
  • UWL finished on the balance beam with a team score of 47.400 while Hamline had a 44.275.

    FLOOR EXERCISE
  • The Eagles had similar results on the floor exercise as the other three events as they took home the top four finishers. As a team, UWL scored a 47.600 while Hamline finished with a 45.325
  • Jessica Taylor was the top performer on the floor as she scored a 9.675 while Grace Edwards and Dickson tied for second with a 9.575.
  • Finishing right behind Edwards and Dickson was Ashlyn Barker with a 9.550.
