Dubuque, Iowa. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team responded with a reverse sweep of Illinois College after dropping match one of the day to Wartburg College (Iowa) on Friday at the University of Dubuque (Iowa) Invitational.

- UWL took an early 7-4 lead in the first set before Wartburg went on a 9-0 to lead 13-7. Wartburg took its largest lead of the set (20-13) on a service ace by Sophie Wedgwick. The Eagles would not go down quietly though as they scored six of the next seven points to cut their deficit to 21-19. Two kills by Gabby Johnson helped spark the Eagle run. Wartburg finished the first set on a 4-2 run to hold off the Eagles 25-21.
- The second set was a back and forth affair until Wartburg took a 14-10 lead on back-to-back kills by Kaylee Koudelka.. A Jackie Oetterer service ace would even the score at 17-17 and the teams would trade points until it was tied at 20. Wartburg then took a 22-20 lead on a kill and an Eagle attacking error. An Addy Moseler kill would make it 22-21 but Wartbug scored three of the final four points to take set two 25-22.
- With the score tied at 8, Wartburg scored 10 straight to lead 18-10 and UWL would not get any closer than than eight (21-13) the rest of the way.
UW-LA CROSSE 3, ILLINOIS COLLEGE 2
- UWL used a 7-1 run to turn a 6-5 deficit into a 12-7 lead early in the first set. The Eagles would take a 20-15 lead before Illinois College used a 7-0 run to take a 22-20 lead and force a UWL timeout. A Johnson kill would tie the set at 22 before Illinois College scored the final three points to win set one 25-22.
- With the score tied at 10, Illinois College went on a 7-3 run to take a 17-13 lead and force a UWL timeout. Illinois College extended its lead to 22-15 and the Eagles did not get closer than six.
- The Eagles took a 12-8 lead with a 5-1 run which included back-to-back kills by Johnson and a service ace from Megan Jasperson. The Eagles would extend their lead to 19-14 before Illinois College would cut it to 19-17. Kills by Paige Geiser and Reese Yocum would give the Eagles a 22-18 lead to force an Illinois College timeout. UWL would come out of the time out and force an Illinois College hitting error, get a kill from Yocum and a service ace by Oetterer to force a fourth set.
- The Eagles took control early in the fourth set as they built an 11-3 lead and never looked back. Illinois College cut their deficit to 17-14 but UWL scored five straight and eight of the final 10 points to take set four 25-17.
- The two teams woudl trade points to start the fifth set as it was tied 7-7 before UWL got a kill from Yocum and force an Illinois hitting error to lead 9-7. Illinois College would get back-to-back kills and a service ace to take a 12-11 lead and force a UWL timeout. Two kills by Johnson and a service ace by Hally Holker to give the Eagles a 14-12 lead. After a UWL hitting error, Justine Bastyr recorded the game winning point with a kill to seal the reverse sweep for the Eagles.

Match 1 Stat Leaders
- Johnson led the Eagles offense as she hit .400 and finished with 14 kills.
- Oetterer (14 assists) and Grace Nommensen (9 assists) split the setting role.
- Taylor Larson led the team with 12 digs.
Match 2 Stat Leaders
- Johnson once again led the Eagles as she finished with a match high 23 kills while Yocum recorded 14.
- The Eagles defense had four players finish with double digits in digs led by Johnson with 11 while Taylor Larson, Oetterer and Jasperson each had 10.
- Oetterer added 23 assists while Holker finished with 15 assists and a team high four service aces.
