Athletics Announces Hiring of Eight New Staff

La Crosse, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the hiring of eight staff members. 

Brittany Baldwin starts her first year as a full-time assistant softball coach in 2024-25 after serving as interim assistant coach last year. She also works as an assistant facilities and events coordinator. Baldwin earned her bachelor's degree from UWL in 2018 after earning four letters for the Eagles' softball team. She was a four-time All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) selection at UWL. Baldwin was also voted to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Second Team. Named the 2018 WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete, Baldwin is UWL's career leader in stolen bases (76). 
 
Jarod Camerota is an assistant women's and men's tennis coach. He also serves as fieldhouse manager. Camerota arrives at UWL after serving as an assistant women's tennis coach at Cornell University (N.Y.). He has been the head tennis coach at five programs, including Jacksonville University (Fla.), Georgia State University, Mars Hill University (N.C.), Colorado State University and UW-Oshkosh. Camerota earned his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and master's degree from Ball State University (Ohio). Prior to transferring to Arizona State, Camerota played tennis at UWL. 
 
Zach Cook returns to UWL as an assistant wrestling coach and assistant Mitchell Hall manager. He earned his bachelor's degree from UWL in 2014 and master's degree from Lynchburg University (Va.) in 2015. Cook was the Eagles' assistant wrestling coach from 2014-19. He comes to UWL after coaching at North Central College (Ill.) from 2019-24. Cook was the Cardinals' head men's wrestling coach and associate women's wrestling coach from 2022-24. He led the men's program to a fourth-place finish at the 2023 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships and coached six NCAA III All-Americas the last two seasons, including one national champion. He was the school's associate head men's and women's coach in 2021-22 and assistant coach from 2019-21.
 
Lauren Johnson is UWL's assistant soccer coach and assistant to the business manager. She served as an assistant soccer coach at Wartburg College (Iowa) from 2022-24. Johnson earned her bachelor's degree from Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) and a four-year starter for the soccer program. She earned two All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) honors and was named Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) Rookie of the Year in 2017 and team MVP in 2018 and 2021. She has served as a head ninth grade girls soccer coach at East Ridge High School in Woodbury, Minnesota, head U9 girls soccer coach for the Mahtomedi (Minn.) Scocer Association and assistant U13 girls soccer coach for the Eagan (Minn.) Wave Soccer Club.

Nick Kohl returns to campus as an assistant men's track & field coach (jumps) and assistant facilities and events coordinator. He served as an assistant track & field coach with the Eagles for six seasons. Kohl coached eight national champions at UWL, 30 NCAA Division III All-Americas and 22 WIAC champions. Kohl is back at UWL after being an assistant track & field coach at Wartburg College (Iowa) the last 10 seasons. He earned his bachelor's degree from UW-Stout and was an assistant coach for the Blue Devils, coaching three NCAA III All-America and seven league champions.
 
Hannah Shaw starts her first season as an assistant lacrosse coach and assistant facilities and events coordinator. She comes to UWL after serving as head lacrosse coach for Verve Lacrosse in San Jose, California since May 2024. Shaw was an assistant coach for Menlo-Atherton High School in Menlo Park, California from January-May 2024. She was a four-year starter at the College of Wooster (Ohio), serving as team captain her senior season. Shaw earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Wooster (Ohio) in 2023.
 
Dr. Brea Stanton is in her first year as an athletic staff trainer. She comes to UWL after serving as a full-time athletic trainer for Gundersen – St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics and Reedsburg Area Medical Center since 2023. Stanton was an athletic trainer at Saint Claire's Hospital. She was a full-time athletic trainer for Union Health from 2019-23. Stanton earned her bachelor's degree from UWL in 2019 and her doctorate from Indiana State University in 2021.
 
Deja Williams is an assistant women's basketball coach and serves as a multicultural admissions counselor for UWL. She earned her bachelor's degree from Cleveland State University and master's degree from Mercer University (Ga.). Williams arrives at UWL after completing her basketball career at Mercer (Ga.) in 2023-24. She was a two-year member of the Cleveland State (Ohio) basketball team and played for one season at California State University, Northridge.
