Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team completed second day action at the Rochester Invitational Friday night at the Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium.
The Eagles are in fourth-place with 720.0 team points. St. Cloud State University (Minn.) leads the seventh-team invitational with 1,372.0 points.
A pair of relays placed in the top-six on Friday for UWL with
Blake Nelson,
Alex Starr,
Jesse Hammes and
Jackson Plautz finishing fourth (1:23.39) in the 200 freestyle relay while
Zach Vinson,
Tyler Hartmann,
Jonah Elfers and Hammes placed sixth (3:27.50) in the 400 medley relay.
In Friday's three-meter diving competition, UWL's
Tony McNiff placed eighth (361.80 points).
Others finishing in top-16 individually included
Ben Collins ninth (57.84) and Plautz 15
th (1:01.64) in the 100 breaststroke.
Vinson was 11
th (53.06) in the 100 backstroke while
Sean Gillett was 15
th (54.42) and Elfers 16
th (55.47).
Caleb Jondle tied for 11
th (4:18.05) in the 400 I.M. with
