Greensboro, N.C.. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team picked up its second win at the Guilford College (N.C.) Holiday Tournament as they defeated the University of Mary Washington (Va.) Sunday afternoon.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- For the second day in a row, UWL got off to a fast start as they scored the first seven points and took an early 13-4 (3:04) lead. Lauryn Milne and Madisyn Kilboten each scored four points during the early run. After a Megan Baxter three-pointer for Mary Washington, UWL got a three-pointer from Katie Waukau, a free throw by Lindsey Knuth and a layup from Milne to extend its lead to 19-7. Two Baxter free throws for Mary Washington would be the final scoring of the opening period as UWL led 19-9.
- The Eagles of UWL would score eight of the first 13 points to start the second quarter as UWL took a 27-14 lead (7:03). Grace Knupp would give the Eagles a 35-22 lead with 1:54 left in the second quarter. Mary Washington would get a three-pointer from Breana Valentine to finish the first half scoring as UWL led 35-22.
- UWL would outscore Mary Washington 20-13 as they shot nine-of-18 (50%) from the floor to extend their lead to 55-35 after three quarters.
- The Eagles of UWL continued their dominance in the fourth quarter as they outscored Mary Washington 19-8. UWL shot seven-of-14 (50%) from the floor and five-of-five from the free throw line in the final quarter. The Eagles never trailed in the contest and took its largest lead of the game at 74-40 (:46).

- As a team, the Eagles finished 28-of-64 (43.8%) from the floor including six-of-22 (27.3%) from the three-point line. UWL was also 12-of-19 (63.2%) from the free throw line.
- Milne led all scorers as she finished with 20 points to go along with six rebounds.
- Nelson added nine points while Knuth finished with seven points.
- A very balanced offensive attack for the Eagles as they had seven players score at least five points.
- Ali Sprangers finished with a team high seven rebounds to help give UWL a 46-34 advantage on the boards.
- Mary Washington shot 15-of-53 (28.3%) from the floor including six-of-18 (33.3%) from the three point line. Mary Washington was also seven-of-12 (58.3%) from the free throw line.
- Baxter led Mary Washington with 15 points.
