UWL Won Nine Events To Lead Them Past UW-Whitewater

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's Swim and Dive team had nine first place finishes to help lead them past UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon.

DIVING

1-meter - Tony McNiff won the 1-meter dive followed by Aanav Patel, Joey Marchiando, Luke Zocher and Ethan Pedersen.
3-meter - Picking up his second event win of the day was McNiff as he won the 3-meter dive while Marchiando was second, Patel finished third and Zocher fourth.

SWIMMING

200 yard medley relay - The relay team of Jesse Hammes, Tyler Hartmann, Jonah Elfers and Blake Nelson won the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:35.08.
1000 yard freestyle - Davin Evans (10:18.52) finished second in the 1000 yard freestyle while Dominick Ellerd (11:06.78) was fourth.
200 yard freestyle - UWL had three of the top four finishers in the 200 yard freestyle led by Ben Collins (1:49.04) in second, Connor Cleveland (1:53.53) in third and Kyle Kosiak (1:57.52) in fourth.
100 yard backstroke - Elfers (55.05) led the Eagles in the 100 yard backstroke with a second place finish. Finishing behind Elfers was Sean Gillett (57.13) in third and Nathaniel Gehm (58.31) in fourth.
100 yard breaststroke - Hartmann won the 100 yard breaststroke in a time of 1:00.69.
200 yard butterfly - In a time of 2:03.48, Caleb Jondle won the 200 yard butterfly and Zach Vinson finished third (2:09.54).
50 yard freestyle - Hammes picked up the win in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.37 while Nelson (21.60) finished second and Alex Starr (22.53) fourth.
100 yard freestyle - After winning the 50 yard freestyle, Hammes (47.45) finished second in the 100 yard freestyle. Next for the Eagles was Nelson (48.91) in fourth followed by Jackson Plautz (49.56) in fifth.
200 yard backstroke - Gillett (2:06.82) was second in the 200 yard backstroke and Vinson (2:09.97) finished fourth.
200 yard breaststroke - With a time of 2:12.69, Collins won the 200 yard breaststroke.
500 yard freestyle - Jondle (5:14.93) and Ellerd (5:20.65) finished second and third, respectively in the 500 yard freestyle.
200 yard butterfly - Elfers won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 53.51 while William Gargulak (55.37) was second.
200 yard IM - Hartmann (2:00.59) had the fastest time in the 200 yard IM to finish first for the Eagles while Jondle (2:05.98) was third.
200 yard freestyle relay - The relay team of Cleveland, Collins, Plautz and McNiff finished third in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:29.39.
