La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team used a big second quarter to help lead them to a non-conference win over Bethany Lutheran College (Minn.) Tuesday night.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- Lauryn Milne got the scoring going for the Eagles as she hit a layup and a three-pointer on the Eagles first two possessions of the game. A Kaylee Hunter three-pointer cut the Vikings deficit to 12-10 with 3:45 left in the first quarter. A three-point play by Milne followed by a layup by Malia Nelson gave UWL its largest lead of the first quarter (17-10) with 2:10 on the clock.
- UWL closed the second quarter on a 15-0 run to lead 38-20 at halftime. Ali Sprangers, Isabelle Schultz and Nelson would spark the run for the Eagles as they hit three-pointers on three consecutive possessions. Emma Jossie also gave the Eagles a boost with eight points in the second quarter.
- The Eagles would take its largest lead (50-26) of the game on a layup by Molly Janke with 4:03 left in the third quarter.
- The Vikings would not go away quietly as they opened the 13-0 run to cut their deficit to 54-45 with 5:50 left in the game. Milne's three-pointer would stop the run as UWL quickly brought their lead back up to 21 (69-48) with 2:36 remaining. Bethany Lutheran would not get any closer than 13 (69-56) the rest of the game.
