Volleyball Drops Two at Augustana Triangualar; Johnson Surpasses Milestone

Rock Island, Ill.  - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team traveled to Rock Island, Ill. on Saturday for the Augustana College (Ill.) Triangular. UWL fell to North Central College (Ill.) 3-0 and Augustana College (Ill.) 3-2.

  • As a team, the Eagles hit .054 and were led by Gabby Johnson with seven kills.
  • Jackie Oetterer recorded her second consecutive double-double as she finished with 23 assists and 10 digs.
  • Grace Nommensen and Taylor Larson each finished with 11 digs to lead the Eagles defense.
  • North Central hit .252 as a team with Lauren Benson leading the way with 13 kills. 
  • Maddi Barickman finished with 33 assists while Bailey Houlihan had 25 digs. 
    MATCH 2 - Augustana College (Ill.) 3, UW-La Crosse 2
  • After struggling over the first two sets to get the offense going, the Eagles offense hit .300 in the third set to start their comeback. The Eagles finished hitting .179 for the match.
  • With her first kill of the match, Johnson surpassed the 1000 kills mark as she now has 1020. Johnson led the Eagles with 21 kills while Grace Turlais finished with 11. 
  • Oetterer added another double-double as she finished with 40 assists and 11 digs while adding seven kills. 
  • Larson led the defense with 24 kills while Nommensen added 15 digs and Ella Luoma 10. 
  • Augustana hit .259 and were led by Emily Schipper with 15 kills while Carmela Carbone and Alexis Richards each had nine. 
  • Ashley Awbrey led the defense for Augustana with 14 digs while Kylie Collachia finished with 45 assists.
