La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team opened the 2024 season with a win over Simpson College (Iowa) Friday night at Mitchell Hall.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
    VAULT

• Rachel Chesley took home the vault title with a score of 9.625.
• Right behind Chesley was teammate Lily Millington with a 9.60.
• Also finishing in the top five for the Eagles was Alex Wood in fourth with a 9.475 while Paige Breckwoldt tied for fifth with a 9.40. 

    UNEVEN PARALLEL BARS

• UWL took home the top four spots on the uneven parallel bars with Lauren Main finishing first with a score of 9.675.
• Ashlyn Barker was second with with a 9.525 while Claudia Walter was third (9.450) and Chesley was fourth (9.125).

    BALANCE BEAM

• Raina Christenson won the balance beam with a score of 9.775 as the Eagles had the top four finishers.
• Jordan Halcom was second with a 9.625 while Hannah Hautala was third with a score of 9.550
• In fourth place, Claire Robbins scored a 9.525 for the Eagles.

    FLOOR EXERCISE

• The Eagles had the top three finishers in the floor exercise as Jessica Taylor took home the title with a score of 9.750
• In second place was Chesley with a 9.675 while Robbins was third with a 9.650.
