Menomonie, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team picked up its biggest win of the season so far as they defeated nationally ranked UW-Stout Wednesday night at Johnson Fieldhouse.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- Leading 6-5, UW-Stout went on a 12-2 run to take an 18-7 lead with 2:29 left in the first quarter. Katie Waukau hit a three-pointer to stop the Blue Devils run while Lindsey Knuth hit a jumper and Madisyn Kilboten hit a free throw as UWL trailed 18-13 at the end of the first quarter.
- Paige Schumann cut UWL's deficit to 18-15 with a jumper but UW-Stout would score 11 of the next 15 points to extend their lead to 28-19. A three-pointer by Waukau followed by a layup from Kailee Meeker pulled the Eagles to within 30-24; however, UW-Stout led 35-28 at the half.
- WIth the score 37-30, UWL went on a 17-4 run to take a 47-41 lead with 4:09 left in the third quarter. Waukau, Meeker and Lauryn Milne each scored five points to spark the Eagles run. A Kilboten jumper with :01 left gave the Eagles a 52-49 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
- A Sydney Brennan three-pointer followed by Raegan Sorenson's jumper gave the Blue Devils a 54-52 lead early in the four quarter. A Lindsey Knuth three-pointer would spark a 7-0 run to give the Eagles a 61-56 lead with 2:23 remaining. Lexi Wagner would hit two three-pointers for the Blue Devils to cut their deficit to 63-62 but that would be all of the scoring for UW-Stout. Milne would hit a layup while Knuth hit two free throws to seal the win for UWL.

- The Eagles finished with four players in double figures including Kilboten with 14 points to lead the way.
- Joining Kilboten in double figures was Milne (13 points), Knuth (10 points) and Waukau (11 points).
- Paige Schumann finished with six points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- As a team, UWL finished 25-of-60 (41.7%) from the floor including seven-of-21 (33.3%) from the three point line. UWL was also 10-of-12 (83.3%) from the free throw line.
- UWL's defense forced 21 turnovers while they turned the ball over 11 times.
- Sorensen led the Blue Devils with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Wagner added 14 points and seven rebounds.
- UW-Stout shot 22-of-50 (44.0%) from the floor including 10-of-26 (38.5%) from the three-point line. UW-Stout was also eight-of-11 (72.7%) from the free throw line.
