Dubuque, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team recorded its second shutout of the season with a 7-0 victory at the University of Dubuque (Iowa) Sunday afternoon at Oyen Field. The Eagles improve to 2-0 on the year while the Spartans drop to 0-2.
UWL opened the season with a 1-0 victory over The College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) on September 1.

Sydney Halstead's goal at 2:20 off
Ainsley Allan's assists.
Claire Cater's unassisted goal at 19:55 gave UWL a 2-0 lead. The Eagles added a pair of goals to take a 4-0 halftime advantage.
Jillian Sawadski scored at 31:00 and
Hayley Slaski at 34:51.
Sophie Pope recorded assists in both goals.
UWL has recorded a pair of shutouts to open the season.

Natalie Schisel's assist at 72:28 gave UWL a 5-0 lead. Schisel finished the scoring with a pair of goals, the first coming at 77:27 on Slaski's assist. Her second goal was at 89:32 on a
Lizzy Hanstedt assist.
The Eagles recorded 16 shots in the second half while holding the Spartans to no shots. UWL finished with 34 shots, including 17 on goal. Cater, Pope and Schisel each had four shots with Cater and Pope finishing with three on goal. Schisel had two shots on goal. Sawadski recorded three shots, all on goal. Fifteen players had a shot for UWL.
Three goalkeepers combined on the shutout with
Sophia Anger earning the win with one save. She played 34:51.
McKenna Lloyd played 14:32 in goal while
Robin Blair played 40:37.
Dubuque (Iowa) was held to two shots. Riley Trudeau had the Spartans' lone goal on shot. Karissa Cruz recorded 10 saves.
UWL returns to action Wednesday, September 6 at Concordia University Wisconsin at 4 p.m.
