Colfax, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country placed third at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational Friday at Whitetail Golf Course. The Eagles finished with 141 team points while UW-Whitewater won the team tile with 28. St. Olaf College (Minn.) was second with 57. A total of 30 teams competed.
UWL had four runners finish in the top-36, including
Will Aurit placing 18th with a time of 25:34.80 on the 8,000-meter course.
Jayden Zywicki placed 26th (25:49.60) with
Ben Stangel 28th (25:51.60),
Luke Chaffin 35th (25:57.50) and
Parker Huhn 36th (25:58.30).
Mason Brown finished 42nd (26:05.30),
Austin True 43rd (26:06.00),
Aidan Manning 49th (26:09.20),
Alex Strojny 65th (26:25.40) and
Owen Klaus 81st (26:41.30).
A total of 257 runners completed the course.
In the Open Race, UWL's Alex Taylor finished seventh (26:48.24) and
Riley Huss 24th (27:30.87). A total of 217 runners competed in the Open Race.
UWL returns to action Saturday, September 30 at the Lehigh University (Pa.) Paul Short Run at 8:30 a.m.
