La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team opened the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference portion of their schedule on Wednesday night as they fell 3-1 to UW-Platteville.

Final Score: UW-Platteville defeated UW-La Crosse 25-20, 25-20, 24-26, 25-17.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- UW-Platteville scored six of the first eight points and never trailed in the first set. After UWL cut their deficit to 14-13, UWP got two kills and a service ace to lead 17-13. UWL then pulled with in 21-19; however, UWP scored four of the final five points to take the first set 25-20.
- UWL took a 10-8 lead in the second set on a kill by Anna Rossner. UW-Platteville then went on a 7-0 run to lead 15-10. An attacking error by the Pioneers cut the their lead to 20-17; however, UW-Platteville scored four straight and took the second set 25-20.
- The third set saw the Eagles score the first seven points and lead 9-2. Jackie Oetterer served the first seven points including recording a service ace. The Pioneers slowly chipped away and eventually led 20-18. UWL would tie it at 21 before UW-Platteville forced an Eagle hitting error and got a kill from Emma Carlson. Brianne Korducki then recorded three straight kills to give the Eagles a 24-23 lead. After a kill by Kierney McDonald extended the set for the Pioneers, Korducki recorded the final two kills to give the Eagles a 26-24 win.
- The Pioneers opened the fourth set on a 7-3 run. UWL cut their deficit to 14-13 to force a UW-Platteville timeout. UW-Platteville scored six of the final seven points to win the fourth set 25-17.

- Korducki led the Eagles with 14 kills and six digs.
- Gabrialla Johnson finished with nine kills and 11 digs.
- Grace Nommensen finished with 20 assists while Oetterer had 14 assists and 10 digs.
- Anna Rossner had five kills and seven blocks for the Eagles.
- Emma Carlson led the Pioneers with 19 kills and 12 digs
- Claudia Johnson and Camryn Johnston finished with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
