La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team fell, 18-13, to UW-River Falls Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles drop to 8-4 on the season, suffering their first home loss of the season (5-1). The Falcons improve to 7-5.

UW-River Falls raced out to a 7-0 lead with five different players scoring a goal. Holly Eckers scored first with 13:58 left on a Emma Heerey assist. Josie Johnson and Emily Herdine each scored twice for the Falcons in the opening quarter. UWL got on the board with 2:53 remaining on

After Heerey gave the Falcons a 8-1 lead with 10:47 left in the first half, the Eagles scored four straight goals to cut the deficit to 8-5.

Olivia Wight (6:17) and Feeney (4:42) each scored for UWL. Herdine scored with 3:25 and 2:02 left to give UW-River Falls a 10-5 lead. Schiltz scored with 1:43 remaining to cut the halftime lead to 10-6.Â
Schwartz' goal with 11:36 left and Feeney's goal with 10:14 remaining cut the deficit to 10-8, but UW-River Falls scored the next five goals to extend its lead to 15-8. Bailey O'Donovan, Eckers, Johnson and Grace Hannula scored in the third quarter to make it 14-8. Kyla Palo scored a man-up goal with 13:52 remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Falcons a seven goal lead. Feeney (10:24) and
Grace Willmott (9:22) cut the lead to 15-10. After Herdine gave UW-River Falls a 16-10 lead with 9:02 left, Willmott (8:47) and Schwartz (6:01) scored to cut it to 16-12. Hannaula scored with 3:04 remaining and Palo with 1:15 left to give UW-River Falls an 18-12 lead. Schwartz scored with :26 left to finish the scoring.
UWL totaled 34 shots in the game. Schwartz and Feeney each scored four times with Schwartz adding a team-high two assists. Schiltz and Willmott each had two goals. Abigale Furlano suffered the loss, finishing with three saves while playing the first half.
Emily Hageman recorded four saves in the second half.

UW-River Falls finished with 32 shots. Herdine had a game-high five goals while Eckers, Heerey and Johnson each had three goals. Eckers and Heerey each finished with three assists. Abby Hammond earned the win in goal, totaling 11 saves.
UWL returns to action Sunday, April 16 hosting Hamline University (Minn.) at 2 p.m.
