La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team earned a dual win over UW-Whitewater Friday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles finished with a team score of 190.775 while the Warhawks totaled 188.350.
UWL finished with a score of 47.975 on the vault, 47.500 on the uneven parallel bars, 47.200 on the balance beam and 48.100 on the floor exercise.Â
Alex Wood won the vault.
The Eagles won three of the four individual events on Friday with
Alex Wood capturing the vault (9.750),
Kerrie Legault the uneven parallel bars (9.725) and Marise Zepeda the floor exercise (9.750). Â
Cate Sandvik scored 37.400 in the all-around Friday night.
Other top-six finishes for UWL included
Rachel Chesley second (9.675),
Madi Vanderpool third (9.575) and
Cate Sandvik fifth (9.425) on the uneven parallel bars while Vanderpool was also second (9.625) on the balance beam with
Hannah Hautala third (9.600) and
Kyla Dickson fifth (9.450).Â
Caelen Lansing tied for second (9.725) on the floor exercise with Sandvik fourth (9.675),
Jessica Taylor fifth (9.650) and Chesley sixth (9.600).Â
Sandvik and
Sarah Pastore tied for fifth (9.600) on the vault. Sandvik was the only competitor in the all-around (37.400).Â
UW-Whitewater's Kelsey Kollhoff won the floor exercise (9.750).Â
UWL returns to action Friday, February 24 at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at 6 p.m.
