Dubuque, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team fell 68-62 to Loras College (Iowa) in the Championship Game of the Loras Tip Off Classic.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- The Eagles got off to a fast start as they built an early 12-3 lead with 4:11 remaining in the first quarter. Katie Waukau capped the run with her first of four three-pointers in the game. The Duhawks would close the opening quarter with a 12-4 run to trail 16-15 at the end of the first quarter.
- Loras continued the run as they scored nine of the first 11 points in the second quarter to lead 24-18 with 6:28 remaining. UWL would cut their deficit to 28-26 on another Waukau three-pointer. The Duhawks led the Eagles 32-27 at the half.
- Trailing 36-31, UWL went on an 11-4 run including a three-pointer by Waukau to lead 42-40 with 4:56 remaining. Loras scored the final four points of the third quarter to lead 48-44 going into the final quarter.
- UWL would tie it at 53 on a three-pointer by Lindsey Knuth with 6:32 on the clock. Two free throws from Lauryn Milne gave the Eagles a 58-57 lead with 4:24 left. Loras regained the lead (59-58) on a jumper by Madison Fleckenstein; however, UWL got a jumper from Grace Knupp to lead 60-59 with 2:14 remaining. Sami Martin gave Loras a 61-60 lead with a layup but Milne gave the Eagles a 62-61 lead with 1:17 left. Loras would hit seven of their final eight free throws and the Eagles would not be able to score again.

- Milne led the Eagles with 13 points and four rebounds.
- Waukau hit four three-pointers for Eagles to finish with 12 points.
- Knuth recorded a team high seven rebounds to go with 10 points.
- Kailee Meeker also finished with double figures as she had 10 points.
- As a team, UWL shot 21-of-51 (41.2%) from the floor including nine-of-22 (40.9%) from the three-point line. UWL was also 11-of-13 (84.6%) from the free throw line.
- Sami Martin and Emerson Wittenbaugh each scored 16 points to lead the Duhawks.
- Loras finished the game 25-of-54 (46.3%) from the floor including four-or-18 from the three-point line while finishing 14-of-23 (60.9%) from the free throw line.
