Minneapolis, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country team placed second at the Roy Griak Invitational Friday afternoon at Les Bolstad Golf Course. The Eagles finished with a team score of 77 points while Michigan Tech University won the team title with 62. The University of Sioux Falls (S.D.) was third (96), Indiana Wesleyan University fourth (104) and Dordt College (Neb.) fifth (134). A total of 27 teams competed in the race.
Central College (Iowa) was sixth (188) followed by the University of Minnesota-Duluth (213), Minnesota State University Mankato (225), Minot State University, N.D. (253) and the University of Mary, N.D. (304) to round-out the top-10.
UWL's
Ethan Gregg captured the individual title Friday with a time of 25:01.4 on the 8,000-meter course. He is the second runner in school history to win the Griak crown, joining Zach Wilhelmy who won the title in 2009. Clayton Sayen of Michigan Tech placed second (25:11.1) on Friday.
Isaac Wegner finished fourth (25:14.9) Friday for UWL.
Four other runners placed in the top-37 for the Eagles, including

Aidan Matthai 30th (26:18.6),
Adam Loenser 35th (26:27.1) and
Parker Huhn 37th (26:28.5).

Josh Koehnen placed 117th (27:30.9),

Nick Kepford 165th (28:11.6).
A total of 400 runners completed the race.
