Adam Loenser of
Clear Lake (H.S.) placed sixth (9:27.68) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the USA Track & Field U20 Outdoor Championships June 25 at Hayward Field.
Loenser qualified for the championships with a time of 9:05.71 in winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the UWL Final Qualifier May 19 at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. He qualified for the 2022 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships, running 9:27.58 in the preliminaries.
Adam Loenser was sixth at the U20 Outdoor Championships.
Completing his freshman year in 2021-22, Loenser placed third (9:12.97) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships. He was third (9:33.59) at the Ashton May Invitational and fourth (9:22.73) at the Phil Esten Challenge.
Loenser was one of 15 entries in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the USA Track & Field U20 Outdoor Championships.
The 2022 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships served as the selection event for the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships to be held in Cali, Colombia on August 1-6, 2022. For the U.S. Team to the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships, in each individual event, the two highest placing finishers at the 2022 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships who elect to compete are named to the team.
