River Falls, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team fell 22-1 to Colorado College Saturday afternoon at UW-River Falls' Ramer Field. The Eagles drop to 6-7 on the season while the Tigers improve to 8-8.
Colorado College scored the first four goals of the game before
Nicole Jernander scored for UWL with 8:03 left in the first quarter. Colorado College led, 9-1, after the first quarter and 14-1 at halftime.
The Tigers took a 19-1 lead after three quarters.
UWL finished with 12 shots in the game, including four by
Lauren Schwartz.
Anna Reifschneider had two shots. Abigale Furlano recorded 11 saves for the Eagles. Schwartz, Reifschneider and
Britta Nelson each had two ground balls.
Colorado College totaled 40 shots in the game. Peyton Murphy led the Tigers with four goals while Delia Freliech added three. Tobin Lonergan, Emmeline Kelley, Zoe Tomlinson, Annie Tucker and Bella Beattie had two goals. Natalie Slade earned the win in goal, recording four saves in 25:05. Avery Newton finished with three saves in 34:55.
UWL returns to action Wednesday, April 27 at Edgewood College (Wis.) at 5 p.m.
